History of Our Club
The Valley Club, established in 1996 by a visionary group of local golf enthusiasts, has evolved into an extraordinary haven for those seeking golfing excellence and unparalleled lifestyle amenities. Born from the passion for camaraderie on the greens, the Club's humble origins led to a magnificent journey of growth and transformation.
In 1999, a pivotal moment unfolded as ownership transitioned from developers to the members, solidifying The Valley Club's status as the exclusive private retreat in the Wood River Valley. The architectural prowess of Hale Irwin graced the Club with an 18-hole course, setting the stage for the remarkable additions that would follow.
The year 2007 marked a milestone with the unveiling of the West Nine, a masterful creation by the legendary architect Tom Fazio. Simultaneously, the Club expanded its offerings with an expansive 8,500-square-foot Fitness Center, featuring a lap pool, spa pool, family pool, six tennis courts, and four pickleball courts. The grandeur of The Valley Club continued to unfold in 2009 with a 13,000-square-foot addition to the Clubhouse, adorned with a sprawling 10,000-square-foot patio offering breathtaking views of the iconic Bald Mountain.
In 2018, a new chapter began as the Club embarked on a $7.5 million renovation of the original 18 holes. The South Nine underwent a transformation in the fall of 2018, and the North Nine followed suit in the spring of 2019. All courses and construction were completed in the spring of 2020, marking a monumental achievement for The Valley Club. Conceived by the creative minds of TVC member and Hall of Fame golfer Davis Love III, along with Beau Welling and his design team, the revamped layout focused on playability for all skill levels, enhanced aesthetics, and a dedication to water conservation. The culmination of this vision in the fall of 2019 set the stage for a new era, where the completed courses add another layer of prestige and enjoyment to our distinguished grounds.
