History of Our Club
Though relatively young in years, The
Valley Club is steeped in tradition. The Club was chartered in 1996 by a small
group of avid local golfers who just wanted a place to play golf with their
friends. These visionaries, combined with the resources and expertise of a
development group, created The Valley Club, featuring 18 holes, designed by
Hale Irwin.
In 1999 the developers turned ownership of
the Club over to the membership and it remains the only private club in the
Wood River Valley. In 2007, the Club proudly opened the West Nine, designed by
legendary architect, Tom Fazio. Simultaneously, the Club expanded a small pool
house into an 8,500 square foot year-round Fitness Center. A four lane Lap Pool, Spa Pool and Family
Pool complement six pristine tennis courts and four pickleball courts. In 2009
the finishing touches were completed on a 13,000 square foot addition to the
Clubhouse, featuring a 10,000 square foot patio to enjoy the spectacular views
of famous Bald Mountain.
The Club continues to expand offerings to
its Members while maintaining our facilities to the highest standards. Most recently, in 2018 the Club broke ground
on a $7.5M renovation of the original 18 holes.
The South Nine renovation was completed in the fall of 2018 and in the
spring of 2019 the North Nine construction began. Having 27 holes has allowed the Club to have
18 holes available throughout the construction.
All construction will be completed by the fall of 2019 and playable in
the spring of 2020. The new design
focused on enhanced playability for all levels, aesthetics and water
conservation. Designed by TVC member and
Hall of Fame golfer Davis Love III along with Beau Welling and his design team,
The Valley Club has created a fun and challenging golf experience for all
levels of play.
As we look to the future, the Club is well
positioned for success and there is a sense that our best years are still
ahead.
